"An American oil painter, Laura Sunde Donovan’s provocative use of color evokes impressions of other worldly landscapes.  The award-winning artist is often referred to as an intuitive painter, drawing both on abstraction and landscape imagery.  Heavily influenced by a close bond with her immigrant grandmother, she was enthralled and heartbroken by the Norwegian woman’s stories of a family and country she left behind.  The Scandinavian artist’s works entice you into a sense of place, remembered, imagined or sensed, that haunt and intrigue."
