ABOUT GLÄDJE
Glädje (pronounced GLADE-yeh) is the Swedish noun for delight.
Glädje is a regional, professional, fine art gallery located in Lindstrom, Minnesota. We are known across the Midwest and beyond for our vast selection of artwork, affordable Scandinavian gifts, high-quality home décor, in-house custom framing, and art restoration.
Our passion for arts education and community has driven us from the beginning and strengthens every day. We offer weekly art classes and community events throughout the year.
The team at Glädje knows that every customer who walks into our gallery deserves the highest level of customer service. We strive to make the shopping experience not only accessible to all, but educational as well.

MISSION
Our mission is to provide locally-sourced fine art, imported Scandinavian gifts, arts education, and custom framing design to Minnesota and Wisconsin.
OUR HISTORY
​In 1973, founder MaryAnn Jindra opened her first gallery in Stillwater, Minnesota.
In 1996, MaryAnn and her husband, John, opened the Up North Gallery in Lindstrom, Minnesota. They later added the historic Gustaf name to honor the history of Gustaf Anderson, a successful Swedish immigrant and gold speculator who settled in Lindstrom after years of farming nearby.

MaryAnn Jindra retired in October of 2019, leaving the gallery in the trusted hands of her Assistant Gallery Director, Jana K. Lensing. The transition of ownership has been smooth and our long-time clients have felt very comfortable working with Jana.
Since 2019, Jana and her growing team of framing professionals and gallery representatives have worked to both honor the history of the business while looking toward the future. In 2021, Gustaf's Up North Gallery underwent many physical updates as well as a rebranding.

Today, we are known as Glädje. We chose this name because we want every visitor to feel joy and delight as they peruse our gallery. We want Glädje to be more than just a place to shop - it is a refuge, a place of mindful reflection, and a place where one can find happiness.
